This march break we took the kids out of school 4 days early and headed to Florida for a vacation. We invited our nephew Andrew to come along, he gladly accepted.
We drove down in our mini van. With six people in the van we needed to store a couple of golf clubs on the roof. This worked out all right. We drove down across two days. The first day we made it all the way to Chattanooga Tennesee, with only a 45 minute wait at the border. Finding a place for 6 people to stay was no small feat. The first couple of places were willing to sell me a king size room for $99. King size meaning one king size bed in the room. We would need two. So we moved on.
The first place we stopped recommended staying at the Homeward Suites, which more sounded like he was sending me to the bad side of town because I didn't want to stay at his hotel. But after the second referral to this place, I decided to check it out. They were a little hidden but only a stones throw from the others. Their rooms had a king sized bed in one room and a double pull out in the other. And only for $129. This sounded good to me ... so good we got the directory listing and stayed in one on the way back.
We made it to our destination in florida the next day by 4:30, would have been there sooner if I hadn't missed the exit. I may as well put it in writing because after spending roughly 20 hours in the van with 6 people no one is ever going to forget it.
Sandra's Mom and Dad were waiting for us at there Resort. The resort isn't entirely their's, they just own a few weeks there. They were very accommodating to have us with them for a week and a half. Highlight of the vacation were Disney, pools, and golfing. Here are some pictures of the trip.
Summer Bay was the first resort we stayed at. Here is a picture looking back from the dock to the main pool.

And here is what Samantha, Kate and I looked like in the pool at night. It didn't take long before Kate was dunking her head under the water for fun. She drank a bit while we were there too. (pool water. )

Summer bay had a few different places for the kids to play too.
Fortunately or unfortunately this is all we found.
While in Florida Michael got a tatoo and Samantha got a hair wrap. Fortunately neither were permanent.

A few games of mini golf were played. Even Kate was into the fun.
On the Saturday we had to move from one resort to the other. So we did what any tourist would do and went shopping at DownTown Disney.

And no I didn't buy the Harley.
On Sunday we met up with Peter, Lynn, Matthew, Hana, Ruth and Doug for supper. Sea food at Shell's restaurant was good. Matthew and Michael as always were happy to see each other.

Even Kate got enough to eat.

After some more shopping and another long two day car ride, we were back home and March break was over.
